Research Group Introduction

Our research group focuses on cutting-edge theoretical studies of open quantum matter, with primary research areas covering novel quantum phases based on light and atoms, quantum optics, quantum control and measurement, as well as non-equilibrium many-body quantum systems, among other frontier topics. The group's research findings have been consistently published in top-tier physics journals, including internationally authoritative publications such as Nature Physics, Physical Review X, and Physical Review Letters.

    Recently, the experimental research team led by Professors Suotang Jia, Liantuan Xiao, and Yan-Tao Zhao from the Institute of Laser Spectroscopy, together with theoretical collaborator Professor Ying Hu, published a research paper titled "Exceptional Nexus in Bose–Einstein Condensates with Collective Dissipation" in the top-tier international physics journal Physical Review Letters.

  • Research Group Makes Advance in Non-Hermitian Quantum Effects, Published in Physical Review X

    Recently, a research team led by Professor Hu Ying from the laboratory, in collaboration with Professor Shi Tao from the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has achieved a breakthrough in the field of non-Hermitian quantum effects. The related findings, titled "Fractional Quantum Zeno Effect Emerging from Non-Hermitian Physics," were published in Physical Review X on July 24, 2023. The paper lists Shanxi University as the primary affiliation, with Yue Sun, a Ph.D. candidate at the Institute of Laser Spectroscopy, as the first author. Professors Shi Tao and Hu Ying serve as the corresponding authors. The research work also involved contributions from Professors Suotang Jia, Liantuan Xiao, Dr. Zhiyong Liu from the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Zhidong Zhang.
